Slaney Farms Wexford Queens…grown with passion
A favourite ‘shallow eyed’ potato grown in Ireland since early 1900’s, Queens are a variety of potato that was bred by Archibald Finlay.
They have an oval shape, pale skin with shallow pink-tinged eyes. A good all-rounder potato being suitable for most cooking types the light floury white flesh has a very good flavour.
For optimum results, your fresh Potatoes are best stored in a frost-free, airy, cool, dark and dry place to avoid greening.
It’s best to handle Potatoes gently to prevent bruising or damage.
It’s also important to be aware that where Potatoes are packed in plastic, they should ideally be taken out of the bag as soon as possible, to retain their optimum condition and prevent untimely spoiling.
